Join us for a 3 day class (Thurs-Sat. 11/12-14/2026) with master potter Moon Do Bang, a highly respected Korean artist renowned for his throwing techniques and iconic white porcelain “moon jars” (Dal Hang-a-re).

Spend three days throwing with Moon Do Bang and level up your pottery skills. You’ll dig into the fundamentals—centering, opening, and pulling a solid cylinder out of 5+lbs of clay—then learn how to stretch that form into the soft, round shape moon jars are famous for. Moon will demo trimming techniques using Korean tools, share pro tips, and help you refine your big-form work.

Refund Policy: Tickets are transferable but non-refundable. If you cannot attend,please transfer your spot to another experienced potter.

What you’ll learn:

Master the art of creating moon jars and large vessels through:

  • Cylinder techniques: centering, opening, and pulling even walls with 5 lbs. of clay
  • Forming the distinctive belly shape of the moon jar
  • Trimming using Korean tools and techniques

Multi-Week Class Cancelation & Refund Policy

To request a cancellation and refund of your multi-week class, email info@throwandbuild.com. 100% of tuition less $25 processing fee when requested no later than 21 days of start of class. 50% of tuition requested less $25 processing feel within 14 days. There will be no refunds within 13 days before class starts. Should a class not fill sufficiently, we may cancel it one week prior to the first class session and provide full refund.

FAQ’S

I missed class, can I reschedule?

No class make up if you miss a class. However you have unlimited access to open studio for the duration of your class. Your instructor will catch you up in the next class after the demo and you can get help during your instructor's "Potter's Hours" where they are the studio tech and they can help you at those times as wll.

During my 6-week course, can I access the studio outside of class time?

Yes, students enrolled in multi-week classes has unlimited access to the open studio.

Can I bring my friends to open studio?

Yes, your friends are welcomed to come to the studio for 1 session for Open studio during the studio's public hours from 10am - 2pm Sat & Sun, they are not permitted to attend during class sessions. If space is available at work tables, they can use the space to play with clay. If the studio is busy, we ask that you defer the workspace station to other studio members.

What should I wear to class?

Wear comfortable clothing that you are okay with getting dirty. We have aprons for your use, but they may limited.

Do I need to bring my own tools?

We have all the tools you need to shape and trim clay and some others you can try and experiment with. You are welcomed to bring other tools you want to use to make your pottery and keep in your space.

How much does additional clay cost?

Prices for a 25lb bag of clay is about $40-$45 a bag of clay.
